Meet Miss Ohio Mackenzie Bart
MANSFIELD – Miss Ohio Mackenzie Bart and newly crowned Miss Ohio’s Outstanding Teen Rosie Westerbeck signed autographs and posed for photographs with fans on their first official public appearance Sunday at the Richland Mall.
The twosome were a big hit as mostly young girls and fans of the Miss Ohio pageant lined up for autographs in the mall’s center court.
Miss Ohio 2013 Heather Wells stopped by to wish them both well as they autographed photos.
“Always ask how they spell their name,” she said, speaking from experience.
Layla Azmoun, 8, had her photograph taken with Miss Ohio.
A big fan, she said she would like to one day become Miss Ohio.
As a song writer, she said that would be her talent.
Her father, Rossi, of Canton, said his daughter watched a pageant on television and liked it.
Caleb Haley, 18, of Galion, also asked Bart and Westerbeck if they minded taking a selfie with him.
He proudly said he would be showing his friends the selfie.
Haley said he was at the mall shopping and decided to make the impromptu request when he walked by the Miss Ohio group.
Miss Ohio volunteers Robin and Theresa Jakubick opened their home this week to Bart.
Robin brought a poster board for Bart to sign. The board contained names of former contestan

Ventriloquist stands out at Miss Ohio

Brumbaugh, a family and consumer science teacher and a graduate of the University of Akron, has won the preliminary swimsuit award two other times at Miss Ohio. This year marks Brumbaugh’s fourth and final year competing as she “ages out” of the Miss Ohio program.
“I’ve always worked on my body for Miss Ohio,” Brumbaugh said, “but this year I worked extra hard. This is my last year before I age out, so I really wanted to go out with a bang.”
During the news conference at the Renaissance Theatre, Bart, making her second journey to the Miss Ohio stage, entertained the room with her wit and cleverness without Roxy.
“I know that Roxy is probably more excited than I am,” said Bart, 22, of Columbus. “She probably wishes she could be here,” she said of the flamboyant puppet.
Bart, a senior at The Ohio State University, who plans to become
